What is WebMSEL?
The WebMSEL (Web-based Master Scenario Events List) tool is an asynchronous, collaborative planning tool that allows for collaborative exercise design from any location and subsequent delivery of MSEL “inject” information during an exercise. “Injects” are delivered according to time, or in response to events within a constructive simulation. The “injects” are delivered by email, C2 messaging system or directly to the constructive simulation and can contain any type of file or information. Responses and onward message traffic can be recorded and displayed in a timeline for After Action Review purposes.
Why choose WebMSEL?
The timeline feature allows you to see all the exercise events by time. This allows trainers to quickly grasp how the events within the exercise will occur. The timeline serves as an excellent briefing tool for decision makers.
On-the fly Editing.
During training, it may be necessary to delay the release of a message or a series of messages. This can be easily done by moving the message start time marker in the timeline. Groups of related messages can all be done simultaneously.
As the messages are delivered, WebMSEL tracks the delivery as well as any responses and displays this information within a graphical timeline. This allows exercise observer/controllers to view the staff efficiency by seeing the content and timeliness of message responses for use during post training reviews.
Messages can contain any type of information, including the following:
- Reports and Requests
- Plans and Orders
- Graphic Overlays
- Media files (audio, video, etc.)
Integration with simulations.
WebMSEL is fully integrated into EDMSIM and MILSIM constructive simulation products. Information “injects” can be triggered according to events occurring within the constructive simulation. For instance, if a survey team is dispatched to a location. When they arrive in the simulation, WebMSEL sends a message containing information related to the site. This type of interaction allows an unprecedented amount of richness and “free play” for information based events that either was not possible, or would be extremely difficult to manually control.
